Key Qualifications:

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by New York State is required Demonstrated expertise providing direct nursing care to children ages 3-18 in a school environment Prior experience as an LPN/LVN or RN in school health services is highly valued Familiarity with New York State health protocols and regulations for school settings Capable of conducting routine screenings, tests, and maintaining thorough health records Strong communication skills with students, parents, and staff Adaptable to placement in any public or private school within the district Must be available for onsite work throughout the assignment; virtual/remote work is not an option

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct, compassionate nursing care to students with a range of health needs Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies as needed Conduct health assessments and screenings in compliance with state requirements Maintain detailed and confidential medical records Serve as a resource on health-related issues and collaborate in developing individualized student health plans Promote wellness and healthy lifestyle choices within the school community This contract runs from May 18 to June 30, with the potential for extension based on fit and need for the following school year.
