School Nurse Teacher

Job Description:

The primary purpose of the School Nurse Teacher is to provide skilled nursing care to students on a daily basis and to teach health education.

Responsibilities:

Conduct school health servicesProvide first aid for students and staffProvide other medical care of students as neededID and meet needs of student w special health care needs in collaboration with parent/guardian and health care providerMedication administration and maintenance Maintain student health records; review physical and immunization records to ensure complianceProvide individual health education to students and families; communicate with families regarding students health care needsProvide health education resources and education to staff; collaborate with staff (teachers/counseling staff) around individual students needsFacilitate dental, hearing, vision, and scoliosis screenings for students and follow up with families re: findingsAssist families in connecting to community health resourcesMaintain health office in safe and hygienic mannerProvide health related supplies for classrooms and field tripsPlan and implement health instruction for students as directedMonitor safety and communicable disease in the school settingAdvise school administration on health matters as requestedConfer with Charter School Physician as neededAttend staff and professional meetings as directedComply with federal and state regulations for school health servicesInstruct students in classroom health education
