Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and healthcare documentation, with a passion for delivering compassionate and efficient nursing services. This role offers an opportunity to work across diverse clinical settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and specialized units. The successful applicant will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient assessments, administering treatments, and supporting interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes. Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Assist with complex procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management. Provide specialized care in areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), dialysis, hospice & palliative medicine, and trauma medicine. Coordinate patient care plans through case management activities while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards. Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings by evaluating patient needs and prioritizing treatment accordingly. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care patients, and those requiring behavioral health support. Maintain infection control standards and ensure sterile processing of medical equipment in accordance with hospital protocols. Demonstrate proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation and billing purposes. Educate patients on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication management, and discharge planning to promote ongoing wellness. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state or jurisdiction. Proven experience in acute care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable; hospital experience is essential. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient record management. Demonstrated competence in performing advanced procedures such as phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, sterile technique application, and airway management. Experience working with diverse patient populations across settings like medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments. Knowledge of critical care practices including trauma medicine, infectious disease care, pain management, and post-acute care protocols. Strong understanding of physiology knowledge related to patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation processes. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams under pressure. Additional skills preferred include working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law; hospice & palliative medicine; geriatrics; MDS (Minimum Data Set); trauma medicine; ICU experience; emergency medicine; occupational health; infection control; laboratory experience; CPT coding; nursing home experience; medical imaging; neonatal ventilator support; gastrostomy tube management; ostomy care; mammography procedures; sterile processing techniques; dementia & Alzheimer's care; teaching hospital experience; post-acute care experience; family planning knowledge; dermal fillers administration; discharge planning expertise; outpatient clinic operations; Hoyer lift use; nutrition counseling; working with children or infants; travel nursing opportunities; inpatient settings; specimen collection/processing skills.
