Job Description
Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a high school student as a 1:1 Registered Nurse for the 2026-2027 school year. This meaningful role focuses on providing essential care and companionship to a motivated, cognitively high-functioning student who is paralyzed. As their dedicated RN, you'll make a significant impact on their daily school experience, traveling with them and ensuring their well-being from home to classroom and back. This position offers approximately 30 hours per week, with a unique weekday schedule that gives you every Wednesday off. You'll be accompanying the student on the bus each day, providing attentive care, encouragement, and medical support throughout their school routine. Your expertise and compassionate presence will help foster an inclusive and empowering environment for your student.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Current and active RN license required Prior experience supporting high school-age students preferred Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail Ability to provide 1:1 care, including mobility and transfers Experience and comfort riding school transportation with a student Excellent communication skills, especially in collaborative school settings Adaptability and a positive, patient approach to daily challengesCore Responsibilities:
Provide safe and attentive 1:1 care for a paralyzed high school student Support the student's medical needs during bus rides and school hours Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff as a reliable advocate Maintain accurate documentation of daily care and observations Encourage student participation and foster independence when possible Respond promptly to medical needs or emergencies as they arise You'll enjoy a consistent weekday schedule and the satisfaction of supporting a remarkable student.
