1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center in Charleston, SC, requiring scrub and circulate experience across multiple surgical specialties. Details Work in a 21-suite Main Operating Room within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital Surgical specialties include Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics Nursing team is composed of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures Charting is performed in Epic Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM
  • 7:00 PM) Up to one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday, 6:30 AM
  • 7:00 PM) required per month Up to 4 on-call shifts per month (end of shift
  • 7:00 AM) Up to 2 weekend call shifts per month (7:00 AM

  • 7:00 AM, Saturday or Sunday) Holiday rotation required Floating within scope to meet facility needs or between like units/sister facilities may be required Requirements Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the active license before starting Current AHA certifications required: BLS Level I Trauma Center experience required Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred Scrub experience strongly preferred SSN and driver's license required for consideration 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are accepted for this position depending on experience Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration and is subject to facility approval A radiation badge is required and will be provided by the agency Scrubs are provided by the facility Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date During hurricane season (June-November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September A $20 one-time registration fee is required to obtain a parking hang tag for the on-site garage
