Job Description

Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Outpatient (RN) will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in a medical office setting as directed by a physician. The RN is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and consistently practicing CMC's core values of excellence, compassion, healing, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, and integrity.
Qualifications:
Education Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred. Experience Minimum of two years' current experience in nursing practice required. Experience with Electronic Medical Record System preferred. Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required. Licensure/Certification/Registration Current RN licensure in the state of South Carolina is required or in accordance with the compact state regulations. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service. Ensure that quality care is provided to all patients and is responsible for maintaining confidential records of vital statistics and other pertinent data. Notify patients of diagnostic test results, ensure that clients receive appropriate follow-up care, and educate patients to assure understanding of physician's orders effectively. Perform duties including but not limited to rooming patients in a timely manner, recording nursing notes, vital signs, weight, etc., and coordinating care within the office team. Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families Work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads. Effectively utilize strong organizational skills. Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required. Remain calm and professional in all situations.
