Day-to-Day:

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) plays a key role in delivering patient-centered care within a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) behavioral health clinic. This RN supports patients receiving TMS therapy for conditions such as major depressive disorder by providing clinical oversight, treatment coordination, patient education, and safety monitoring in an outpatient setting. The role collaborates closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality, compassionate care throughout the treatment process. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Treatment Support Administer and support TMS therapy sessions in accordance with provider orders, clinical protocols, and manufacturer guidelines Monitor patients before, during, and after TMS treatments for therapeutic response and adverse effects Perform clinical assessments, vital signs, and symptom monitoring related to behavioral health treatments Assist providers with initial patient evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical follow-ups Patient Education & Engagement Educate patients on the TMS treatment process, expected outcomes, side effects, and safety considerations Provide compassionate support for patients with depression and other behavioral health diagnoses Serve as a consistent clinical point of contact to enhance patient comfort, compliance, and continuity of care Care Coordination & Documentation Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, and clinic staff to ensure seamless patient experiences Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Support prior authorizations, treatment scheduling, and therapy tracking as needed Safety, Compliance & Quality Adhere to all clinic policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards Ensure a safe, therapeutic outpatient environment Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic workflow optimization
