1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Newborn Nursery position requiring Level 1 & 2 nursery experience and NRP certification for a night shift contract at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC. Details Work in the Newborn Nursery unit of a 286-bed acute care hospital Level III Trauma Center Newborn patient population covering delivery through discharge, including Level 1 and Level 2 nursery care Level 2 cases may include phototherapy, IV antibiotics, opioid withdrawal, and bubble CPAP Patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM Every other weekend required No on-call requirement, though this may change based on unit needs Floating within the women's area of the facility may be required Charting via Epic Requirements Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; must be in hand prior to start Required certifications (AHA): BLS and
NRP STABLE
certification highly preferred Minimum 2 years of nursery RN experience required Level 1 and Level 2 nursery setting experience required Must be comfortable managing patients from delivery through discharge Charge nurse experience preferred SSN and Driver's License required for consideration 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June-November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September Royal blue scrubs required
