Position Summary Provides medical care within the scope of education/training and delineated privileges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, injuries and emergencies Order, preform, and interpret diagnostic tests Collect, record and maintain patients' information and histories Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family members Notify patients of laboratory and radiology results and document the conversation Monitor patients' conditions and progress Direct, coordinate, consult with and refer patients to other health care providers Advise patients, parents, and guardians on diets, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention Remain up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the pediatric field Conduct and/or participate in quality improvement projects and other projects within the department Supervise health care offered non-physician medical staff Serve as an on-call provider in rotation with pediatricians and other pediatric mid-level practitioners Maintain timely, accurate documentation on all medical records in compliance with established guidelines and policies Maintain and annually reviews Collaborating Practice Agreement with supervising physician as mandated by state regulations Maintain continuing medical education as required by credentialing agency Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership Qualifications Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS). Must have and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate, South Carolina Medical License and South Carolina Controlled Substance License Must have a Master's Degree (MA) (MS) or Doctoral Degree (Ph. D.) (DNP) or equivalent from accredited college/university Must have and Maintain certificates, licenses and registrations required: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure by South Carolina State Board of Nursing Board Certification by a national organization (ANCC or AANP)
