Job Description

Staff Nurse II 12 Hour - Per-diem/Night Shift -
NICU/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/IICN Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Unit Director, Nursing Supervisor, and/or Charge Nurse, the Staff Nurse II is responsible and accountable for planning directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Watsonville Community Hospital. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The Staff Nurse II is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume Relief Charge Nurse duty as oriented and assigned.
Education:
As determined by California Board of Registered Nurses.
Experience:
A minimum of one year (2080 actual hours worked) in an acute care hospital setting. Prefer 1 year acute care experience in last 2 years in area of specialty. Completion of applicable Hospital and Perinatal RN Competencies (within 3 months of hire/transfer and prior to independent practice on the particular competency). A) Mother-Baby, B) Secondary IICN, C) Primary IICN, D) Primary L&D.Licenses and/or
Certifications:
State of California RN license and American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
BCLS & NRP
required. L&D RNs ACLS and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring) required. Night ShiftPer-diem
