ASAP Starts at $60 per hour 6:30a-5p Monday - Friday Must have BLS Please contact Brandi at 865-692-8950 We are actively seeking dedicated and highly skilled Operating Room (O.R.) Nurses to join our dynamic surgical teams. The ideal candidates will possess a strong foundation in perioperative nursing, with expertise in providing comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. As an O.R. Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterile environments, and supporting surgical teams across various specialties including ophthalmology, cardiology, trauma medicine, and more. This position offers an engaging opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospital setting where your clinical skills and compassionate care will make a significant difference. Duties Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for procedures. Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations by passing instruments, managing equipment, and maintaining a sterile field. Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgical procedures to ensure safety and stability. Administer medications, including IV infusions and sedation, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Document all aspects of patient care accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Provide post-operative care by assessing patients' recovery status, managing pain, and communicating discharge instructions. Maintain compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies to uphold the highest safety standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including critical care specialists, anesthesiologists, and physical therapists to optimize patient outcomes. Experience Proven experience working in an operating room environment with exposure to OR procedures across multiple specialties such as ophthalmology, trauma medicine, or cardiology. Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique, suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and ventilator management. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Familiarity with advanced surgical equipment including surgical microscopes for ophthalmology or cardiac catheterization tools. Critical care experience within ICU or PACU settings is highly desirable to support complex perioperative needs. Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards for documentation purposes; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus. Background working in hospital medicine or emergency room settings with acute pain management expertise. Ability to work effectively within high-pressure environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
