Job Description

Pre-Op RN Location Memphis, TN Date per-diem Time 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (8 hours) Position Pre-Op RN Patient population Adults & Peds Scrubs Scrubs provided
Pay Rate:
$33-$38/hr Position Overview We're seeking an experienced Pre-Op Registered Nurse to support a great team. Candidates must be confident working in a fast-paced environment and comfortable managing adult orthopedic patients.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Op Duties:
Complete patient assessments, medical history reviews, and preoperative checklists Start IVs and administer preoperative medications as ordered Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and postoperative expectations Ensure surgical consents, labs, and documentation are complete and accurate Coordinate with OR teams to ensure timely patient flow The Pre-Op RN is responsible for patient intake, confirming NPO status, reviewing medical history and medications, obtaining vital signs, and starting IVs to keep physician pods running efficiently. Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated 2• yrs. of experience in a Pre-Op nursing role.• Skilled in IV starts , patient assessment, perioperative education, and recovery care Strong knowledge of airway management, hemodynamic stability, pain control, and anesthesia recovery protocols Ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, OR staff, and allied health professionals Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong commitment to patient safety and high-quality perioperative care Requirements Active Tennessee RN License
BLS & ACLS
Certifications Pre-Op RN Skills Assessment Background Check Driver's License Tuberculosis Screening Pay:
$33.00 - $38.00 per hour
