40 Hours Weekly Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory team. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced cardiovascular technology in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cardiac Catheterization procedures and demonstrate strong clinical skills in procedural nursing, patient monitoring, and sedation management. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. Circulate and scrub during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures. Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with established protocols. Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Support patient care in related procedural areas, including radiology-based sedation procedures as needed. Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Document patient care, procedural details, and outcomes within the electronic medical record. Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in emergency response situations and procedural complications management. Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions. Participate in on-call rotation to support after-hours procedural needs. Required Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Licensure & Certifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) License required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required. Experience Minimum one (1) year of recent acute care Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience required. Experience circulating during cardiac procedures required. Experience scrubbing cardiac procedures preferred. Experience providing procedural sedation required. Interventional Radiology (IR) experience highly preferred. Electrophysiology (EP) experience preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and patient monitoring. Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. Proficiency in moderate sedation administration and monitoring. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment. Strong critical-thinking and emergency response skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience with electronic medical record documentation systems preferred. Commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes. Additional Information Approximately 2-10 procedures per day depending on patient volume. Team-based procedural environment with collaborative staffing. Opportunity for contract extension based on performance and departmental needs. Traveler candidates must reside outside the facility's local commuting radius and meet assignment eligibility requirements. On-call responsibilities include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
