BSA Hospital is a 445-bed hospital serving the Amarillo area for over 120 years and continues to be Amarillo's preferred healthcare provider. At BSA, the focus is to provide quality healthcare in Christian love, service and dignity. Responsibilities The Lactation Consultant RN is a licensed registered nurse with specialized training and certification in lactation management. This role provides education, support, and consultation to breastfeeding mothers and their families, promoting successful initiation and continuation of breastfeeding during the hospital stay and after discharge. The Lactation Consultant serves as a clinical resource to healthcare staff, supports evidence-based practice, and contributes to improved patient outcomes in maternal-infant health.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RN license in Texas in good standing. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year experience in maternal-child health of neonatal care.
