$2326 to $2455 weekly gross Job Description Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced perinatal team at a Level IV Maternal Designation facility. This RN will provide comprehensive care to laboring patients, high-risk obstetric populations, antepartum patients, and postpartum families within one of Texas' busiest women's health programs. The ideal candidate will have strong Labor & Delivery experience in a high-volume delivery setting, excellent fetal monitoring skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency obstetric situations. Unit Highlights Level IV Maternal Designation Facility Over 500+ deliveries per month 20 Labor, Delivery & Recovery (LDR) suites 4 C-Section suites 10 Triage rooms 51 Mother-Baby Couplet rooms 14 monitored Antepartum rooms 24/7 in-house OB, anesthesia, and NICU coverage Perinatal Transport Program Academic teaching service with large private OB practices Expansion to new Women's Tower planned for mid-2026 Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery Interpret fetal monitoring strips and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products as prescribed Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures Support vaginal deliveries and cesarean section procedures Perform patient assessments and document clinical findings accurately Educate patients and families regarding labor progression, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe patient outcomes Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention practices Requirements Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery / Perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service required Active Texas RN License required Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program required Current BLS Certification (AHA or ARC accepted) Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required Current Advanced Life Support Certification (ACLS) required Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification required Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills required Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years of high-volume perinatal nursing experience preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification preferredS.T.A.B.L.E.
