5 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Postpartum/Mother Baby position in Austin, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent postpartum experience and an active TX or compact RN license. Details Located in the Women's Tower (3rd floor) of a hospital in Austin, TX 24-bed Antepartum/Postpartum unit Patient population includes antepartum and postpartum patients with varying acuity levels Patient ratios are 3:1 to 4:1, with occasional 2:1 depending on acuity Common procedures include non-stress tests, hyperemesis management, insulin drips, magnesium administration, and heparin drips EMR systems used: Meditech and CPN Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Rotating weekend requirement No on-call requirements 13-week contract Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start) NRP Advanced 9th Edition certification required for all RNs in Women's Services (Postpartum/Mother Baby) Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in postpartum or a related specialty US SSN and date of birth required for consideration One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri) No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Previous L&D or antepartum experience is preferred Navy blue scrubs required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible Strong teamwork orientation and communication skills are a good fit for this unit First-time travelers are not specifically excluded — contact your recruiter for details
