1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week travel contract at a 50-bed acute rehabilitation hospital in Austin, TX, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 6 months of med-surg experience. Details 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital (IRF) setting in Austin, TX Unit specializes in med-surg, rehab, and ortho/neuro/spinal cord patients on floors 2-3 Adult and geriatric patient population Patient ratio of 1:8 Common diagnoses and treatments include SCI, TBI, stroke, LVAD, orthopedic conditions, amputation, and wound care (burns, ostomy, wound vac) Day shift: 6:45 AM
- 7:15 PM 36 hours per week Every other weekend required (Friday-Sunday) If a weekend shift is missed, it must be made up the following weekend; call-outs must be reported at least 2 hours before shift start No floating required
EHR:
Pinpoint Equipment used includes a stethoscope Requirements Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required Minimum 6 months of med-surg experience required Basic computer proficiency and strong written and verbal English communication skills required Ability to communicate with physicians using SBAR format and work independently Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Provide individualized rehabilitation nursing care to patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injuries Must be cooperative, compassionate, empathetic, and a team player Royal blue scrubs required Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible 13-week contract
