This individual has the accountability and responsibility for clinical operations ensuring that efficient and effective nursing care is provided to individuals and families in the patient care area in which they are employed. As a member of the Nursing Leadership Team, the Nurse Director makes decisions independently and in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Executive to promote the attainment of hospital goals in accordance with its mission. Advocates use of documented best practices and teaches/mentors staff to routinely utilize evidence-based data; Collaborates with nursing peers/faculty in nursing research and incorporates nursing research into practice. Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice and the roles and functions of their patient care team members. Ensures staff accountability by managing staff performance through rewards, recognition, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action. Provides an environment where staff are actively engaged in shared governance and professional development activities. Understands, articulates, and ensures compliance with State Nurse Practice Act, Texas Department of Health regulations, regulatory agency standards, and policies of the organization. Synthesizes and integrates divergent viewpoints for the good of the organization; considers the impact of nursing decisions on the heath care organization as a whole. Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with P&P for supervised department(s).Ensures department compliance with all other relevant hospital and CHC policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations. Displays sound fiscal judgment and control of department as evidenced by achieving budget targets, including but not limited to, hour/stat and cost/stat. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) 3 - 5 years related experience Required License/Certifications Current RN License in the state of Texas BLS Certification Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire or transfer date
Pay:
$54.30 - $65.00 per hour
