Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Operating Room (OR) procedures to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide expert perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures across diverse clinical settings. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for surgery, assisting during procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through meticulous care and adherence to safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced OR nurses to expand their expertise while delivering exceptional patient care in a travel capacity. Responsibilities Prepare surgical patients by verifying identities, reviewing medical histories, and ensuring proper consent and documentation are complete. Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by maintaining sterile fields, passing instruments, and managing equipment. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout the operative process, intervening as necessary. Administer medications, including anesthesia adjuncts and pain management agents, following prescribed protocols. Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards in all aspects of perioperative care. Document all nursing interventions, patient responses, and procedural details accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and postoperative care staff to ensure seamless patient transitions. Educate patients and their families about perioperative procedures, post-operative care instructions, and recovery expectations. Adhere to hospital policies, OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, and other relevant safety guidelines. Support quality improvement initiatives by participating in audits, case reviews, and compliance activities. Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of practice with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Minimum of two years of OR nursing experience within a hospital setting; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with EMR/EHR documentation standards. Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterile processing, and surgical instrumentation. Experience with specialized procedures including cardiac catheterization, botulinum toxin treatments, ophthalmology surgeries, or trauma medicine is advantageous. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology related to anesthesia and perioperative medications. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and handle high-pressure situations efficiently. Knowledge of infection control practices relevant to surgical settings; familiarity with ICD coding is a plus. INDTN Requirements:
Two (2) years current experience required in specialty. Staff must be well versed on all surgical procedures since we don't have specialized teams for each service line
Floating Requirements:
Pre/Post op, PACU if trained, ER for trauma cases.

Compact RN License BLS and ACLS Certified Pay:
$2,400.00 - $2,600.00 per week
