The LVN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Director of Nursing to ensure quality care and resident safety. Key Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians Monitor residents' conditions and report changes to the RN or physician Provide routine nursing care and assist with treatment plans Accurately document care, treatments, and observations in medical records Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers Supervise and direct Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards Respond to emergencies and provide basic nursing care Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members Qualifications Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of Texas Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations Certifications Required Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification (American Heart Association preferred) Skills & Abilities Strong clinical and observational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to supervise CNAs effectively Strong documentation and organizational skills
