Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) / EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), where your energy and compassion will make a meaningful difference in patient care. In this vital role, you will assist with patient transportation and IV placement. Your expertise in emergency response, patient assessment, and medical procedures will help ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring acute or chronic care management. Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care by performing vital signs assessments, physical examinations, and initial triage evaluations to determine urgency and treatment needs. Administer IVs and check patient blood sugar accurately while following prescribed protocols while maintaining thorough medical documentation in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Assist with specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and sterile specimen collection while adhering to aseptic techniques. Conduct patient assessments by evaluating anatomy and physiology knowledge to identify symptoms of acute pain or infectious diseases; respond swiftly during emergencies like airway management or ventilator support. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records for all patient interactions. Qualifications Valid LVN license or EMT certification with current state licensure or registration. Proven experience working in critical care environments such as ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers; experience with Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly valued. Strong background in medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, pediatrics, or home & community care settings; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is a plus. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of advanced clinical skills including airway management, IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and infection control protocols. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments using physiology and anatomy knowledge; skilled in diagnostic evaluation and specimen processing. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients of all ages—including children and infants—and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
