This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a renowned trauma center, utilizing your extensive nursing experience to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse emergency scenarios. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine urgency and prioritize care. Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions and medication administration tailored to acute needs. Manage airway patency and ventilator support for critically ill patients while utilizing aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner. Provide advanced trauma care including wound suturing, airway management, and acute pain management for trauma and medical-surgical emergencies. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, discharge planning, and follow-up care ensuring seamless patient transitions. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records adhering to HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards like ICD-10 or ICD-9 for accurate billing and reporting. Skills Proven experience in emergency room settings with familiarity in Level I or Level II trauma centers and emergency medicine protocols. Strong knowledge of critical care procedures including ICU experience, trauma medicine, and acute care management. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation and medical terminology is essential. Skilled in performing procedures like suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization (including urinary and central lines), and sterile processing techniques. Ability to assess complex patient conditions rapidly through vital signs monitoring, physiological assessments, and diagnostic evaluation skills. Excellent communication skills for effective triage, patient education, family support, and collaboration within high-pressure environments. Knowledge of infectious disease care practices, infection control protocols, and OSHA standards to ensure safety for patients and staff alike.
