Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in surgical nursing and demonstrate proficiency in various medical procedures. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency during surgical operations. Duties Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare for and assist in surgical procedures. Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and monitor patients throughout the perioperative process. Maintain aseptic technique and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems, including Epic and Cerner. Provide education to patients and families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care. Manage IV infusions, catheterizations, and other critical nursing tasks as required. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences: Proficiency in Pediatric OR experience, including knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures. Familiarity with critical care, emergency medicine, or trauma medicine is highly desirable. Experience with medical documentation, phlebotomy, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring. Background in pediatrics, geriatrics, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), NCQA standards, and workers' compensation law is beneficial. Previous experience in settings such as teaching hospitals, outpatient clinics, or ambulatory surgery centers is preferred. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, infection control practices, and basic life support techniques.
