Immediately Job Description Job description Growing Charter School Systems seeks certified nurse for our organization. Preferred bilingual - English/Spanish. Providing services including first aid, care for ill students and emergency care to students and staff. Screening for health problems that impact learning. Identifying and managing students' health concerns. Responsibilities Conduct thorough health assessments and initial evaluations of students presenting with illnesses or injuries Administer medications, injections, and treatments following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation Respond swiftly to emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating with emergency services as needed Manage student health records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor vital signs, perform venipuncture when necessary, and assess physiological status to inform care decisions Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics such as infectious disease prevention, nutrition, and chronic condition management Collaborate with school staff to develop individualized health plans for students with special medical needs Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures and ensuring proper sanitation practices Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration in Texas Prior school nursing experience or working within pediatric or outpatient clinics is preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient assessment techniques Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical record keeping and documentation Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and IV insertion skills required; additional certifications such as PICU or Geriatrics are advantageous Ability to handle urgent care situations confidently while maintaining professionalism and compassion Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentialityNote:
