Cardiology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) / Certified Nurse Practitioner Office & Hospital-Based Cardiology Practice Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our growing cardiology team. This provider will work collaboratively alongside board-certified cardiologists in both outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings, delivering high-quality cardiovascular care to adult patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, team-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient-centered cardiovascular care across the continuum of treatment. Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiovascular conditions in office and hospital settings Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising cardiologists Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions including heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and post-hospital follow-up care Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging studies Assist with hospital rounding, consultations, admissions, and discharges Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventive cardiac care Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical record Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, hospital teams, and referring providers Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols Qualifications Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Current Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification required Current and unrestricted [State] Nurse Practitioner license DEA license and prescriptive authority eligibility BLS and ACLS certification required Cardiology experience preferred; acute care or hospitalist experience strongly desired Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team Schedule & Practice Setting Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital responsibilities Full-time position Open to discussion of part-time schedule Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package including: Competitive salary Productivity incentives Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and CME allowance Retirement plan Malpractice coverage Professional growth and development opportunities About Our Practice This is a large cardiology practice in the great Houston, Texas area.
