Kingsland Surgery Center is seeking a skilled and experienced PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The Pre
OP/PACU RN
will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). This role ensures safe and efficient patient preparation for surgery and recovery from anesthesia, monitoring patient conditions and collaborating with the surgical team to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preoperative assessments, including medical history reviews and patient education. Prepare patients for surgery, including IV insertion, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring. Provide post-anesthesia care, closely monitoring patients for complications and ensuring a smooth recovery. Administer pain management interventions and patient comfort measures as needed. Educate patients and their families about postoperative care and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments and care provided. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with all ASC regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards. Respond promptly and effectively to patient emergencies and changes in condition. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in the PreOp and PACU areas.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas. Minimum of 3 years of experience in PreOp/PACU Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols and pain management techniques. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically eChart. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of patient care and safety.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Direct patient care role within the ASC setting. Frequent standing, walking, and assisting patients. Occasional lifting of patients and medical equipment may be required. How to
