Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) working double weekends! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to diverse patient populations across various settings. Your expertise will support patient recovery, comfort, and safety while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. This position offers an energetic environment where your skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning will make a meaningful difference every day. Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care during double weekend shifts, including vital signs, medication administration, and physical examinations. Monitor and document patient progress accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with complex procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and wound care, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Conduct triage assessments for incoming patients, prioritizing urgent needs in emergency or urgent care settings. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and families on health management strategies, including dementia care, Alzheimer's support, and chronic disease management. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation for legal and quality assurance purposes. Qualifications Valid LVN license in good standing; previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital environments preferred. Demonstrated expertise in critical care areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is highly valued. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute and chronic patient care. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's or memory care is advantageous. Ability to perform complex procedures including venipuncture, tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and ventilator support.
