Starting at $55.00/hour (Customized tax-free stipend options available for qualifying travel candidates) Position Overview Knox County Hospital is seeking a versatile, dedicated, and skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Knox City, Texas. In this dynamic role, you will cross-function between the Emergency Room and the Medical-Surge (MedSurg) unit. This position is ideal for a flexible nurse who thrives in a critical access hospital setting, where no two days are the same, and your broad clinical skillset will be deeply valued by a close-knit community.

Key Responsibilities ER Care:

Triage, assess, and stabilize incoming emergency patients; manage acute traumas, cardiac events, and respiratory distress.

MedSurg Care:

Provide comprehensive post-acute and medical care to admitted patients, including medication administration, wound care, and continuous monitoring.

Adaptability:

Seamlessly transition between high-acuity ER situations and structured MedSurg patient management based on daily census and facility needs.

Collaboration:

Work closely with on-call physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless patient transitions and high-quality care.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate, timely Electronic Health Records (EHR) in compliance with facility and state regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).

License:

Active, unencumbered Texas RN License or a valid Compact/Multistate Nursing License.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in the Emergency Room; prior experience or strong comfort level with MedSurg overflow is highly preferred. Certifications (Required): • BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or TNCC is a strong plus

Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, ability to work independently in low-resource/critical access settings, and a team-first mentality.
