Laredo, TX Job Details Permanent | Full-time | PRN $33 - $36 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Nursing RN License Records management Attention to detail Quality audits Full Job Description Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN will be responsible for overseeing nursing services, ensuring compliance with Texas Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) regulations, coordinating medical care, and supporting individuals receiving services through our programs. This position requires strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight & Nursing Services Conduct nursing assessments and develop individualized nursing service plans as required. Monitor the health status of individuals and identify changes that may require medical intervention. Review physician orders and ensure implementation of prescribed treatments and services. Provide clinical guidance and oversight to LVNs and direct care staff. Coordinate healthcare services with physicians, specialists, pharmacies, therapists, and other healthcare providers. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and service planning activities. Medication Management & Monitoring Oversee medication management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. Review medication administration records (MARs) and medication counts regularly. Investigate and address medication discrepancies, incidents, or adverse reactions. Ensure proper medication storage, documentation, and handling procedures are followed. Coordinate medication changes, refills, and physician orders with pharmacies and medical providers. Documentation & Compliance Complete and maintain all required nursing documentation in accordance with HHSC and program requirements. Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and supports billing and service delivery requirements. Conduct audits of nursing and medication records to ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies. Assist with surveys, audits, investigations, corrective actions, and quality assurance activities. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agency regulations. Training & Staff Development Provide training and education to direct care staff regarding medication administration, health-related issues, infection control, emergency procedures, and individual-specific healthcare needs. Conduct competency evaluations and ongoing nursing-related training. Support staff in implementing person-centered healthcare practices. Quality Assurance & Leadership Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities. Assist with incident reviews and development of corrective action plans when necessary. Serve as a clinical resource for staff, individuals served, and family members. Promote safe, ethical, and person-centered care practices throughout the organization. Additional Duties Perform other nursing and administrative duties as assigned. Participate in on-call responsibilities as required. Maintain current licensure and complete all required continuing education and training.
Qualifications:
Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Strong knowledge of medication management and nursing documentation requirements. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Knowledge of HHSC, HCS, ISS, or long-term care regulations preferred.
