Job Summary and Qualifications We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Nursery for our facility to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:
  • Performs complete head to toe newborn assessment with plan of care in a family centered setting
  • Medication administration with understanding of side effects for newborn population
  • Infection control for newborns
  • Demonstrates proficiency with computerized documentation
  • Lactation support for breastfeeding mothers in accordance with policy
  • Provides family centered education based on family needs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of normal lab values of the neonate and recognizes and reports abnormalities of neonate and mother. Follow protocols for GBBS, glucose protocols.
  • Participates in required continuing education programs and in-service What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program BSN preferred 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in Newborn Nursery Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification NRP required Rio Grande Regional Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
