Primary Care LVN- Texarkana 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Texarkana, TX Full-time Sabine Valley Regional MHMR Center 110 reviews Full-time Job scope: Psychiatric services: The LVN provides direct nursing care and/or coordinates the delivery of psychiatric services. General duties include assisting physicians in monitoring client's response to medications, ensuring physician orders are followed. The LVN provides medication education to clients and their families. The nurse screens medication related phone calls for the physician. The nurse in conjunction with the clinic team ensures that the physician has the proper documentation and treatment information to deliver services. Duties are carried out in accordance with nursing licensure standards and established policies and procedures of Community Healthcore.
Primary Care services:
The LVNs perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of LVNs vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location, and type. In addition to administrative duties, LVNs perform clinical duties in accordance to state law, competency, licensure, and education. The clinical duties will include but not limited to taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during examinations
Education/licensure :
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed in the state of Texas to practice as a LVN. Current valid driver's license in state of residence. Current Health Care Provider CPR training certification.
Experience/Knowledge:
Must demonstrate knowledge and applied competency in standards of nursing practice for Licensed Vocational Nurse. Able to read and write consistent with job requirements; cognitive skills as related to the position. Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills. Understanding of medical terminology. Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Ability and strength to sit, bend, and reach during an 8 to 10 hour day. Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treat, and monitor patient needs and maintain accurate records. Ability to physically perform SAMA. Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document or communicate. Routine 8 to 10 hour shifts with weekends off.
