General Description:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Stepdown Unit team in Oklahoma City. In this role, you will provide nursing care to a variety of patients, ranging from those with simple to complex health problems. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, documenting treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Essential Responsibilities:

Patient Care Management:

Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, ensuring their well-being through assessment, care, and observation.

Documentation:

Accurately document patient responses to nursing interventions, prescribed treatments, and changes in physician orders.

Assisting Physicians:

Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Patient Monitoring:

Obtain and monitor physiological data, intervening when necessary to address changes in patient condition.

Medication Administration:

Administer medications as prescribed, including initiating, regulating, and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products.

Care Plan Communication:

Interact with patients and families to share care plans, explain hospital procedures, and provide discharge instructions.

Referrals:

Make referrals to appropriate personnel as needed for additional patient care.

Delegation:

Delegate tasks to support staff while maintaining accountability for patient care.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned based on patient and facility needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

1 year of Step-Down experience in a clinical setting. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse patients and their families. Some basic computer skills. Ability to respond to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.

Required Education:

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
