Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Weekend Wound Care Registered Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized wound management and patient care during weekend shifts, ensuring optimal healing and comfort for diverse patient populations. Your expertise will support recovery, prevent complications, and promote overall well-being in a fast-paced, compassionate environment. Duties Assess and monitor patients' wound conditions through comprehensive physical examinations and evaluations Implement evidence-based wound care protocols, including dressing changes, debridement, and infection control measures Administer advanced treatments such as Botulinum toxin injections for specific wound-related conditions when qualified Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices in wound management Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients and their families on wound care procedures, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications to support healing Manage acute pain associated with wounds using appropriate medication administration and non-pharmacological techniques Skills Proven experience in wound care nursing, including advanced techniques such as suturing and aseptic procedures Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and case management Knowledge of complex medical conditions including infectious disease care, diabetic foot ulcers, and pressure injuries Skilled in performing physical assessments, vital signs monitoring, and diagnostic evaluation of wounds Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, long-term care residents, hospice & palliative medicine patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in urgent care or emergency room settings; ICU or trauma center experience is a plus Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures related to wound management Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or specialized wound care certifications are preferred Join our team to deliver compassionate wound care that transforms lives!
