Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services to students in a vibrant school environment. In this role, you will promote student well-being by delivering prompt, professional medical care, managing health records, and supporting a safe and healthy school community. Your expertise will ensure students receive the necessary attention for both minor health issues and more complex medical needs, fostering an environment where every child can thrive academically and socially. Responsibilities Assess and respond to student health concerns promptly, providing first aid and emergency care as needed Manage and maintain accurate medical records, including immunizations, medication administration, and health histories in electronic health record (EHR) systems Administer medications, injections, and IVs following established protocols while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Conduct routine screenings such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks to identify health issues early Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs Educate students on health topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and injury prevention to promote lifelong healthy habits Ensure a safe school environment by adhering to infection control practices and emergency response procedures Skills Extensive experience in hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments, including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers Proven ability to handle urgent care situations with confidence and professionalism Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient assessment techniques Skilled in venipuncture, injection administration, IV insertion, and other clinical procedures Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation Familiarity with infectious disease care protocols and post-acute care practices Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in outpatient or clinic settings while maintaining patient safety standards Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of student health information Experience working with pediatric populations in school settings or similar environments is highly desirable Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing top-tier healthcare support within an energetic school community.
