Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Nights

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional critical care in our Intensive Care Unit during night shifts. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in acute care settings, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex patient needs, utilizing advanced medical technologies, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. As an integral member of our healthcare team, the RN will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient nursing services while adhering to hospital protocols and standards. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators. Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans aligned with physician orders and best practices. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records. Manage complex procedures including IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and airway management with aseptic technique. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with diverse needs such as trauma, infectious diseases, cardiac conditions, or post-operative recovery. Respond promptly to emergency situations utilizing advanced life support skills and trauma medicine protocols within a Level I or Level II trauma center environment. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication administration, pain management strategies, and discharge instructions. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information while adhering to NCQA standards for quality care.

Requirements Experience:

1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.

Education:

BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Certifications :

BLS for healthcare provider certification from AHA required. ACLS (must obtain within 6 months of hire).

Licensure:

RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN Preferred qualifications: 2 or more years of ICU RN experience.
