As part of the Cardio-Pulmonary Progressive Care Unit, you'll engage with a diverse patient population, gaining hands-on experience managing complex cardiac conditions and working alongside a highly skilled core staff. The environment offers exposure to various leadership styles, collaborative care approaches, and cross-training within related units—ideal for elevating your resume and broadening your expertise in evidence-based practice. Schedule 12-hour days Every other weekend, major holidays required Weekend block scheduling may be accommodated Desired Skills & Certifications Current RN license (compact/multi-state accepted) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year RN experience; 6+ months in acute care preferred Proficiency in reading/validating rhythm strips and managing/titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone) Experience with BiPAP, insulin drips, lab draws, peripheral IV starts Ability to float to ICU, Med/Surg, and ED within scope Strong communication, advocacy, and acute care assessment skills Key Responsibilities Deliver high-acuity care including multisystem management and continuous cardiac monitoring Develop and implement individualized plans of care, adjusting treatments as needed Administer medications and interventions safely per protocols Elevate care through collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and ongoing patient/family support Maintain professional standards, participate in quality improvements, and champion patient safety Benefits & Perks Tax-advantaged travel stipends and comprehensive travel assistance Healthcare coverage, 401(k), and reliable job security Premium compensation for your expertise and flexibility Enrich your resume with advanced practice in progressive care Opportunities to immerse yourself in Ashland's unique culture on your days off Step confidently into the next chapter of your nursing career. to contribute to impactful patient care while enjoying the best of travel nursing in Ashland, VA.
