Job Description

Working within a 30-bed Med Surg/Telemetry unit, you'll engage with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and further develop your expertise by managing a variety of complex cases, such as pre/post hemodialysis and CAPD patients. This assignment allows you to experience firsthand the benefits of different workplace practices, leadership styles, and collaborative interdisciplinary teams—an invaluable way to expand your resume and professional network.
Schedule:
12-hour day shifts Every other weekend and major holiday required
Key Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience and at least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience MS/Tele experience required; CAPD experience preferred Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided) Active RN licensure (compact accepted); BLS required, ACLS/CCRN/PCCN/NIH Stroke certifications preferred Phlebotomy skills; experience with BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, Kangaroo pumps Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills
Primary Duties:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans Administer medications and treatments consistent with best practices and established protocols Manage patient care for a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and may float as needed to other MS/Tele units Serve as an advocate and liaison for patients and their families Participate in continuous quality improvement and educational initiatives
