How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
The RN Practice provides professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. This position is part time, working hours between Monday-Friday 8a-5p The RN Practice Supports Carilion Clinic's hallmarks of service excellence and quality in all job responsibilities. Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes. Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans. Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records. Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs. Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives. Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs. Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care. Demonstrates clinical competence in a dynamic ambulatory care environment. Supports efficient patient flow and resource utilization. Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs. Supports orientation and training of new employees. Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges. Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities. Supports education activities within the department. Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.
What We Require:
Education:
Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.
Experience:
None. Licensure, Certification, and/or
Registration:
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
Life Support:
AHA BLS-HCP
required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
