Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities:
Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them. Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
Hours:
Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education :
Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following: Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
Experience :
2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
Certification :
BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
