Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The RN Infection Preventionist educates the staff and residents on infection Control procedures. The Registered Infection Preventionist Nurse functions as a Liaison between the facility and community education resources. The Registered Infection Preventionist Nurse works in conjunction with the
DON/ADON
to provide education related to quality assurance data conversion and evaluation for the QA program to educate and inform staff of facility QA needs and program to improve infection control processes. The RN Infection Preventionist Nurse analyzes and evaluates nursing care of employees during probationary period to assure the standards of nursing practice are of the highest quality and in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act. The Infection Preventionist assists in directing and supervising the implementation of the resident care plan, including but not limited to: ensuring use of appropriate safety devices, positioning and toileting plans, infection control measures.
