Memorial Regional Medical Center Job Summary:
The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by: Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs Implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions:
In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, and safely demonstrates basic knowledge of the contemporary nursing practice Provides episodic (outpatient) and inpatient (at designated units) pediatric nursing care where applicable Applies knowledge of contemporary Pediatric nursing practice and future innovations Utilizes nursing practice to the care of pediatric patients that require nursing assessment and interdisciplinary team interventions Evaluates, updates and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures Other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
Certifications:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) BLS Basic Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, PALS required within 6 months of hire based on departmental requirements)
Experience:
One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN) Recent Medical/Surgical, NICU, Pediatric, OB, ED or critical care experience (preferred, not required)
Training:
