This travel nursing assignment provides a unique platform to excel in a busy 24-bed Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit. You'll care for diverse patient populations—from cardiac and surgical to renal and end-stage respiratory. Embrace the challenges and rewards of various advanced therapies, cardiac drips, and cutting-edge equipment such as Alaris pumps and bedside cardiac monitors. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, adapt to evolving clinical scenarios, and further hone your advanced assessment and leadership skills. Schedule:
12-hour day shifts Every other weekend and major holidays required
Qualifications:
Active RN license in eligible state or RN compact license
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience (preferably 6+ months in acute care) Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided) Proficient in lab draws Ability to manage multisystem organ failure and advanced respiratory modalities Strong communication, assessment, and patient advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and evaluate comprehensive patient care on a stepdown unit Administer complex cardiac and insulin drips, BiPAP, and monitor rhythms Coordinate care across departments and act as a patient advocate Provide patient and family education and emotional support Respond adeptly to rapidly changing conditions, prioritizing safety and quality outcomes
