You must have an active Virginia RN license and a degree from an accredited nursing program. At least one year of recent intermediate care, progressive care, or step-down nursing experience is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are necessary. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is recommended. Strong skills in patient assessment, cardiac and neurological monitoring, and operating specialized medical equipment are essential.
