Morning and Evening Classes Available Position Summary Hampton Roads Healthcare Training is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and engaging Registered Nurse (RN) CNA Instructor to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about educating future healthcare professionals and committed to creating a positive, supportive, and interactive learning environment. The ideal candidate enjoys teaching, mentoring, and inspiring adult learners while helping students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to become exceptional Certified Nurse Aides. Essential Responsibilities Deliver classroom instruction and clinical training in accordance with: Virginia Board of Nursing requirements Virginia Nurse Aide Education Program regulations State and federal guidelines governing nurse aide education programs Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, presentations, and hands-on skills demonstrations. Facilitate engaging and interactive classroom discussions. Teach and demonstrate CNA skills, procedures, and best practices. Supervise students during laboratory and clinical experiences. Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Administer quizzes, examinations, and skills competency evaluations. Maintain accurate attendance records, student files, and required program documentation. Ensure compliance with all program policies and state regulations. Promote professionalism, compassion, ethical behavior, and patient-centered care. Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment. Participate in curriculum updates, program development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Serve as a mentor and role model to students pursuing careers in healthcare. Qualifications Required Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, with at least one year involving direct patient care Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications Ability to teach adult learners with varying educational backgrounds Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Passion for education and student success Preferred Current Virginia Nurse Aide Education Program Trainer Certification Previous teaching, training, or staff development experience Experience in long-term care, home health, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or acute care settings Experience teaching adults or healthcare professionals Candidates who do not currently possess the Virginia Nurse Aide Education Program Trainer Certification are encouraged to apply. Hampton Roads Healthcare Training may assist qualified candidates with obtaining the required trainer certification.
