Job Description
MAUSD's Expanded Learning Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our summer camp team. The School Nurse will be responsible for managing the health and well-being of our students, ensuring a safe and healthy camp environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific health needs.
- Provide direct healthcare services to students, including first aid, emergency care, and management of acute and chronic
illnesses.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Conduct health assessments
- Collaborate with camp administrators, and other camp staff to promote a healthy camp environment.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and school district policies.
- Participate in emergency response planning and training.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move students as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
Work Environment:
- School-based setting with frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases and other health risks.
- This is a full time, 8am to 4pm, M-F position, dates are 625 - 731, and camp is held at Beeman Elementary, in New Haven
Position Type:
Summer
Salary:
$38 to $63 Per Hour. The hourly rate ranges from $38.63 to $63.65 based on the candidate's level of education and years of relevant experience and according to the collective bargaining agreement for instructional staff.

Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Vermont.
- Must have, or be eligible for a Vermont issued professional educator license.
- Completed an educational orientation program provided through the Agency of Education and based on the requirements for delivery of health services as defined in the Vermont School Quality Standards and the Vermont manual titled
Standards of Practice:
School Health Services.
Experience:
Previous experience in pediatric, public health, or school nursing preferred.
Certification:
First Aid, CPRAED certification required.
Skills:
Strong clinical and assessment skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
