School Nurse

Randolph Union is a 7-12 school serving three wonderful central Vermont towns. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students in grades 712. The School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting a safe and healthy school environment, addressing both physical and emotional health needs, modeling compassionate and clear boundaries, and supporting students in developing resilience and self efficacy so that they can be effective learners. ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and emergency responseDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized healthcare plans (IHPs), 504 plans, and support IEP goals as neededEffective communication skills to clearly communicate student health needs with instructional staff and familiesAdminister medications and maintain accurate health records in compliance with state regulationsComplete DITEP assessments and cessation efforts with the Student Assistance Program counselorCollaborate with families, healthcare providers, and school staff to support student health and attendanceMonitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure compliance with immunization requirementsPromote health education related to wellness, prevention, and healthy decision-makingSupport students experiencing mental health concerns in collaboration with counseling staffMaintain a safe and sanitary health office environmentParticipate in crisis response and school safety planningQualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont (or be qualified to apply for and receive one) and a Vermont Educator License with a School Nurse Endorsement (or be able to qualify for a provisional license)Experience in pediatric, adolescent, or school nursing preferredCPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Interested candidates should submit: A cover letterResumeCopies of licensure and certificationsThree letters of referenceCopies of relevant transcripts OSSD is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
