1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Birth Center position requiring strong L&D skills and NRP certification, working 12-hour night shifts. Details Work in a Birth Center unit with 20 total beds: 12 L&D, 8 PP/Antepartum (including 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 ORs), and a 6-bed Level II NICU Patient population includes laboring, antepartum, and postpartum mothers as well as newborns Proficiency required in cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnio infusions, epidural assistance, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration Must be able to circulate C-sections and perform baby catching/receiving, APGAR scoring, and provide breastfeeding support Postpartum care from transition through discharge for both mother and baby is strongly preferred
EMR:
Epic (strongly preferred) 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week No on-call responsibilities Teal scrubs are provided by the facility Requirements Active WA or Compact RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required Must be proficient in cervical exams, antepartum care, labor management, amnio infusions, fetal monitoring, IV placement, Pitocin administration, C-section circulation, and newborn receiving Some exposure to postpartum care strongly preferred Epic EMR experience strongly preferred One supervisor-level reference required for consideration; a second supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required prior to start Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply A Scrub Tech is always on site; scrub-trained RNs may occasionally be utilized for sick call coverage, making scrub experience a bonus NP is available on call for clinical support Multilingual skills, particularly Russian or Spanish, are preferred given the patient population served
