Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing vital nursing support in a dynamic educational setting near Federal Way, WA. This contract opportunity invites dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVN) eager to promote a safe, healthy school environment. Bring your expertise to a diverse group of young learners and collaborate closely with educators, families, and healthcare professionals.
Desired Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN/LVN license valid in Washington State. Previous experience in school nursing, pediatric care, or community health settings preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to manage medical needs, emergency care, and chronic condition support for students. Familiarity with record-keeping, care coordination, and individualized health plans (IHPs/IEPs) is an advantage. CPR/BLS certification required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, triage, and manage student health concerns, injuries, and illnesses during school hours. Administer medications and manage care for chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies). Maintain accurate health records, ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards. Communicate health updates and provide education to students, staff, and families. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans and participate in student support meetings. Respond promptly to health emergencies with professionalism and care. Promote wellness and implement preventive health strategies within the school community.
