Job Description

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a vital role supporting student well-being and growth throughout an entire school district. As a registered nurse, your expertise will empower the school community, working primarily with middle and high school students during the academic year. This contract position offers 35 hours weekly, ensuring consistent onsite engagement and the opportunity to collaborate closely with educators and families. Your role will be essential in fostering a safe and responsive environment where learners can thrive physically, emotionally, and academically.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current, unrestricted RN license in Washington State Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric settings highly valued Adaptable communicator who excels when working with adolescents and diverse populations Strong documentation, assessment, and care planning skills Ability to function independently across multiple locations within the district Dedication to the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical practice
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care, first aid, and emergency response for students and staff Conduct health screenings, immunization compliance, and health education initiatives Develop and implement care plans for chronic conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, allergies) Train school staff on health protocols for managing student health concerns Respond effectively to urgent health needs within the middle and high school sites Maintain thorough health records in accordance with policy and privacy laws Serve as a liaison among families, teachers, and outside medical providers Contribute to a community-focused environment and make a real difference in the lives of students every day.
