Elementary, Middle and High Schools Schedule:
Float, M-F 7-3:30 pm, needs to be extremely flexible (requires base access)Compensation:
$50•$53 per hour, W-2 Employee Role Summary We have an urgent need for Registered Nurses for float positions within a school district located in Lakewood, WA. These roles will be covering the remainder of the current school year (ending June 10), with the potential to return for the 2026-2027 academic year. In these roles, the RN's will work in a true float capacity across the district, delivering essential, day-to-day clinical care to students with complex medical needs, including tracheostomies and ventilator dependence. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and supportive school environment, particularly for students requiring dedicated one-to-one nursing care. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in a school-based setting while supporting student health, safety, and access to education . Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 student coverage and health room support, adapting daily based on highest clinical need Deliver skilled nursing care for medically complex students Collaborate with school staff while working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Ensure readiness to travel between sites with reliable transportation and meet requirements for base access Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Washington Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution Experience working with school age children in health care or school setting Pediatric tracheostomies and ventilator experience within a healthcare or school setting Base Access Requirements (must have own vehicle): Real ID (for out-of-state candidates) or Washington State Enhanced Driver's License/ID Vehicle registration Proof of auto insurance We Offer Columbus provides a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package , including: Cigna Medical, Dental, and Prescription Insurance Vision Coverage Life Insurance (with Buy-Up Option) Professional Liability Insurance Short•and Long-Term Disability Flexible Spending Account Generous Paid Time Off 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan Accident, Hospital, and Cancer Plans Why Join The Columbus Organization?
